Welcome to a brand new OSx86.net!

Recommended Posts

Dear community,?

?

?

Today is a new start for OSx86.net. Everything is new and a lot has changed.?

?

Why?

?

We have been using vBulletin as our core CMS and forum for several years. vBulletin announced vBulletin 5 a while ago, but released it without a CMS. So it’s only a forum and nothing more. We also think they neglected the “old?? vBulletin 4 community. Also, we have been using a Downloads plugin. The original developer stopped working on it. We could do coding ourselves, but we figured that moving to a new (supported) CMS would be a much better move.?

?

What?

?

We decided to move to Invision Power Board. We have been working with it for a while now and we are very pleased with all the features it has. For example the Downloads search is working correctly now (finally).?

?

All posts, user accounts, private messages, etc etc have been moved. This was a lot of work, but we think it was well worth it! Decide for yourselves after working with the new site for a few days.?

?

New looks?

?

Yes. We could fit the old looks in the new software, but we think the new looks are great! We know that not everybody likes changes and some of you might not like the new looks. We have a community of approx. 600,000 users. It is impossible to please everybody, sorry.?

?

Bugs?

?

You might find some things that are not working as expected. Please post them in this topic and we try to deal with it as soon as possible.?
