I have an Inspiron 15r 5221 (Ivy Bridge, i3 3227u CPU, Intel4000 gfx) and had almost zero problems installing 10.9...

?

What version of FakeSMC.kext do you have? Did you modify the Info.plist in FakeSMC by any chance? And what machine are you using in your SMBIOS?

?

(More information would be helpful too... as much relevant info as you can provide... like, what's your CPU? How did you install? What bootloader are you using -- chameleon/enoch/clover/???)

?

My money's on FakeSMC.kext not being properly reinstalled after your upgrade.
