Perfectly Working Mountain Lion Install - No bootloader working

Question

So i installed ML earlier, got just about everything working except the boot loader. I've tried just about everything. Here are some of the Guides that I've tried.

http://www.{censored}.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide.html?tired both solutions

?

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/288671-solved-boot0-error-after-install/

?

I have also tried using MB{censored} to install chimera all versions.

?

I tried the standalone chimera installer.

?

I tried the Clover boot loader.

?

I tried the Chameleon Wizard.

?

I tried the Chameleon Bootloader as well.

?

right now i use a BootCD that has chameleon on it.

I installed ML on an SSD and there are no other OS's on the SSD.?

?

This is my first Hackintosh so there is a good chance I'm doing something wrong. Sorry if this is a easy fix just don't know where else to go to find a solution. Thanks.

?

Samsung 840 pro 256GB SSD

ASUS M5A97 R2.0

AMD FX-8350

2 x 2GB DDR5 Asus HD7770 Crossfired

(these are the main components, other components can be told upon request but shouldn't matter)

?

This is the error i get EVERY time i boot. no matter what boot loader i install.

@t c b

?

the cpu is 0x15 (AMD)? model 0x2 (means FX?)

?

the SMBIOS model is macpro 3.1 ( other AMD users can suggest whether it is the correct model for ML)

1) i was looking at this thread for my interest of getting "external" bootloader in hdd (or SSD in your case);

2) now i understand that you are able to install but not run the mountainlion (or am i wrong? have you been able to create a user?)

3) i am sure you would have read about using AMD kernel for mountain lion (http://www.osx86.net/files/file/538-amd-kernel-for-mountain-lion-10-8-2/); and the mandatory boot argument arch=x86_64;? also look at this zip file: http://www.partage-facile.com/3VTO6K6L4K/package_amd.zip.html (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/288057-usb-clover-with-kernel/)

3a) if you want to see Andy and sinetek developing the amd kernel: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/281450-mavericks-kernel-testing-on-amd-formerly-mountain-lion-kernel-testing-on-amd/page-69

4) i am using clover (as it can reside outside the MAC OS X parititon); though i tried chameleon initially; i dont have experience of other loaders;

5) based on my understanding /reading posts about clover, you can create an AMD installable mountain lion USB; this is achieved through changing the kernel; but reboot will fail as the Installer installs original mac OSX kernel; which is to be rewritten; this is achieved by adding the kernel in the kexts/10.8 folder with corecrypto.kext (see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=5lpRCPGOpo4

?

if you have seen these all and done all......

?

best of luck

Yes i do have an AMD FX-8350. Although im not booting from an external SSD Drive. i am booting from an internal SSD with only 1 partition on it. I have another HDD with two partitions on it but no OS on either partitions.

?

I am running ML flawlessly and here is the kernel i am using http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3716-1085-amd-kernel/ . i use boot flags npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=No. And the only problem i am having is this boot issue.

?

I have tried many times to install just about every bootloader but none of them stick. when i reboot its like i didn't even install a bootloader. its just the same thing over and over. The only bootloader i have gotten to stick is Chameleon and i had to install it through the ML Installer with a MyHack USB Installer. but now i am having trouble with that bootloader giving me KP.

?

I don't care what kind of bootloader i use i just want something so i dont always have to boot from my DVD drive.

how confident are you in trying sector writing (using windows utilities) to the boot sector; since you have only one SSD to write to and another SSD is empty, ?if you dont have much data to back up (the second SSD can be used for the experiment), we can try "manually" install Clover;

?

(i am able to run clover from an external HDD without bothering the internal hdd which has the windows; i am having trouble in running mavericks from internal hdd using clover manually invoked from a virtual image ---- but that is a different story)

?

My external hdd is MBR (but GPT will also work); i have 3 primary partitions on it and 4 extended partitions; The first partition is DOS (yes dos!); the second partition is MacOS X mountain lion; the third partition is linux (pclinuxos);

?

after installing linux the mbr was written by grldr;

?

i have "copied" the boot0hfs (this a MBR part -stage 0 -- of clover boot loader); care has to be taken to write clearly without affecting the partition table; (that is what the dd command in Mac and linux does; but i always use HEXEDIT or WinHEX as i can physically check where the bytes are written ; i also make a backup of the mbr incase i crash the machine; manytimes i do; but i have bootusb to recover them!

?

once the SSD is with boot0hfs MBR, the next step is to write the boot1h or boot1h2 pbr in the first two sectors ?of the MacOSX partition

?

then copy the following files: boot, boot7 and the clover boot folders EFI and Extra; that is all!

?

whenever i start the laptop through the external drive:

?

MBR (boot0hfs) ---> macOSX pbr (boot1h) --> boot ----> boot7 and finally EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi

?

?

if you are ready to take this route, try it out;

?

(others, who are comfortable with the command /terminal route may suggest suitable commands

?
