ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS Dual E5-2667v2 ES CPU's ElCapitan 10.11.6

Recommended Posts

I installed El Capitan 10.11.6 on my Asus Z9 PE-D8 WS / 2X 8cores Xeon E5 2670 v1 (Sandy Bridge).

nullpowermanagement is installed.

I tested speedstep following that link. It returned two values 12 and 26 that looked correct.

I wasn't sure about the only two values then i followed that link to generate an personal SSDT.

After using that last process and removing nullpowermanagement i lost speedstep!

I thought nullpowermanagement was removing speedstep and not the opposite???

Since that experience i'm not sure about my settings anymore.

Is it somebody able to clear my situation?

Thank you?

Hello again,

Last but not least:

I can't make GPU work, i tried GTX660, Ati 5450, ASUS GT610.

The only way to get the Desktop is using a NVidia GEFORCE210 with nv_disable=1.

I tried everything i found on internet out.

I posted my EFI the one Martin posted doesn't work on my system.

El Capitan 10.11.6

Asus Z9 PE-D8 WS (last BIOS update)

2X 8cores Xeon E5 2670 v1 (Sandy Bridge)

PS: I have a XEON E5 V2 (Ivy Bridge) to test.

I could never get Sandy Bridge CPU's to work so can't offer any help there.

NullCPUPM will disable speed stepping.

You will need to enable the Asus Power Management fix in Clover along with KernelPM and KernelCPU recognition, you might need AppleRTC fixing too

Boot arguments should be -v npci=0x2000 xcpm_ipi

SMBIOS to use either iMac14,2 will get the graphics working with no patching needed

SMBIOS MacPro6,1 will need an SSDT for the 660ti but it was for use with El-Cap and not Sierra so might no longer work

Do not use Clover Configurator's Use Nvidia Web Drivers it's broken (or was the last time I used it) use Clovers boot Options/Graphics section to set the Use Web Drivers but only after you have installed them. So you are right to boot with NV_Disable=1 (depending on your smbios) it will be slow because it's using VESA mode, but it will enable you to download and install the Nvidia web drivers. Please note the iMac14,2 requires no web drivers to get full function of the 660ti
