I'm going to have a try this sunday. Although there is potential uncertain crash of installing SL in a chameleon booting PC, I still believe we can achieve this :) let's wait and see ~

I have SL build 10A432 which is discussed on several forums to be the final build or not.

On a PC running 10.5.8, thx to AsereBLN´s great Tutorial, I will try SL this week.

Keep in mind that booting Snow Leopard isn't currently supported in a default install of Chameleon. You'll have to use netkas' dsmos.kext and PC EFI to properly load it.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your tip.

This morning I had a try about installing Snow leopard to my existing Leopard partition which is the primary production env for me. I got a reboot in the middle of installation procedure, after that I got my old Leopard as if it was never touched. I guess the installer was copying temp files to somewhere and installing the temp files to the leopard partition later, the problem is that I couldn't use the optical disk or hard disk which containing the remainder of installation to continue.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for hinting all of us ;-)

I haven't been able to successfully install Snow Leopard on my system yet. Sorry.

This morning I had a try about installing Snow leopard to my existing Leopard partition which is the primary production env for me. I guess the installer was copying temp files to somewhere and installing the temp files to the leopard partition later, the problem is that I couldn't use the optical disk or hard disk which containing the remainder of installation to continue.

That's exactly what happened to me. The installer does load a lot of the installation files into a temporary directory, then reboots and starts up from the DVD to complete the process. Since we cannot boot natively from the DVD without using a bootloader, the install process fails and you boot back to your existing Leopard install.

The process will likely be, after a fully functional method of booting to the Snow Leopard DVD is made available, would be to boot from the disc and do a either an Archive and Install or a clean install like we do with the Leopard DVD.
